The 2017 ASDR Scholarship was awarded as a renewal to Kyla Zamora’s 2016 scholarship. Kyla had a great year at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, NM, where she maintained a high grade point average and perfect attendance while working a job. We have gotten updates regularly from her very proud Mom, Carol Zamora.
My name is Kyla Zamora. I am the 20-year-old daughter of Randy and Carol Zamora. I am finishing up my second semester of college at New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs New Mexico and have been holding a 3.8 GPA and a perfect attendance. My plan is to take a few extra classes this summer to get my phlebotomy license. In the fall semester I will be taking 16 credit hour and plan to graduate next May with Associates degree in business. I then plan to transfer to the University of New Mexico to get my bachelor degree in business. I would like to thank everyone for your support hope to see everyone soon.
Class of 2016: Kyla Zamora
My name is Kyla Zamora. I am the 19 year old daughter of Randy and Carol Zamora. The way my family’s kennel has inspired me in so many, ways that will help me in the future and maybe one day I hope to have my own kennel.
Throughout my high school career I have participated in , 4-H, FFA, youth director of CGRA (2012), De Baca County Fair Queen in 2014 and New Mexico High School Rodeo. My first show was in Tucson AZ with IABC, where I got my
first championship title and won junior handler with my toy Australian Shepherd. I’ve also participated in ICE. We attended our first ASDR show in Lubbock TX in March of 2015, when I started showing my Pembroke Welsh Corgi. In October of 2015 we hosted show in Belen NM. I also attend the ASDR Invitational Dog Show in Las Vegas NV.
I’ve been accepted to New Mexico Junior College, in Hobbs NM and will be attending this fall. I will be focused on studies related to the medical field.
Thank you for your consideration.
